Understanding the Different Types of Case Sealers

The following systems represent main types of case sealers, carton tapers and automatic box taping machines.

Note: Customization options are also available such as: Loveshaw Little David systems have an option of a stainless steel frame (AKA: wash-down case sealer). For those that have more special requirements, there is the option to “build your own” case sealer system. To learn more about customizing options and build your own systems, contact Crawford Packaging.

1. Uniform Semi-Automatic Case Sealers

  • Continuous runs of the same size box.
  • Require an operator to fold box flaps and introduce the case to the machine
  • Machine seals both the top and bottom of the case.
  • When a different case size run is required, a simple, no tool adjustment is made by the operator which takes very little time.

2. Uniform Fully Automatic Case Sealers

  • Continuous runs of the same size box.
  • Do not require an operator to fold flaps.
  • Once the machine is set to a case size it folds top flaps and seals both the top and bottom of the case.
