Crawford’s Innovative Approach Featured in the January Canadian Packaging Issue

We’re pleased to announce that Crawford Packaging has been featured in the January/February 2026 issue of Canadian Packaging. The magazine’s in‑depth article highlights how the company is reshaping end‑of‑line automation through its state‑of‑the‑art Automation Experience Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.

The 40,000‑square‑foot facility has quickly become a collaborative hub for equipment testing, customer training, and hands‑on demonstrations. As the article notes, the center allows customers to run their own products on multiple machines and compare real‑world results—something described as “a pretty rare thing in the distribution business.”

A Collaborative Approach to Load Containment

The feature in Canadian Packaging magazine focuses on a recent joint training session involving Crawford Packaging, Wulftec International, and Sigma Stretch Film Canada. Together, the teams conducted extensive testing on Wulftec’s integrated stretch wrapper / strapper system—a one pass, space saving solution operated through a single HMI panel.

Wulftec’s Canadian sales representative Michel Rouleau emphasized the company’s unique position in the market, stating, “Right now we are the only ones to manufacture both strapping and wrapping systems under the same roof.” This integration allows customers to reduce floor space, streamline operations, and accelerate ROI by eliminating the need to handle pallets twice.

Stretch Film Optimization and Sustainability

Sigma Stretch Film Canada also played a key role in the session, demonstrating how engineered films perform when properly matched with automated equipment. Director of sales Bruce Cameron underscored the importance of material efficiency, noting that “ensuring that the end‑user is applying the right amount of film is the greenest solution out there.”

With Canada moving an estimated 300 million pallet loads annually, optimizing film usage has both economic and environmental impact. Sigma’s partnership with Crawford and Wulftec aims to help customers reduce waste, improve load stability, and enhance supply‑chain performance.
