Service Technician

Job Summary

Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install automatic and semi-automatic packaging equipment, including pallet wrappers, shrink and bundling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automatic and semi-automatic machines, both in-house and at customer facilities, involving PLC, HDMI, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the service department team and support the Sales/Administration Team related to produce/packaging.
  • Assist with equipment preparation before shipment and delivery.
  • Complete and submit work orders weekly, along with other necessary documentation like mileage and credit card receipts.
  • Participate in ongoing training relevant to job duties and equipment.
  • Travel as required, primarily throughout Southern Ontario, with potential opportunities for international travel.
  • Maintain company vehicle and other company property, including tools, according to company policy.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Millwright, electrician journeyman, or relevant technical training is required.
  • Previous experience in both mechanical and electrical installation and troubleshooting is essential.
  • Preferably, experience in the manufacturing or distribution industry.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, particularly in the industrial sector.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and various software systems.
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and trades in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in international shipping, tracking, and receiving using diverse carriers.
  • Capacity to follow complex instructions with limited supervision and strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong mathematical abilities relevant to job duties.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to train clients, often in group settings, on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel for training purposes, with a valid passport if necessary.
